PES science are the creators behind some seriously good supplements. Their fat burner, or Leaning Agent, as they call it, is called Shift.
Shift uses a reasonably sized blend of natural fat burning ingredients to try and help you cut away fat by increasing your metabolizm and burning stored fat as energy.
As ingredients go, the blend looks ok but not amazing, with a fairly average 2 capsule serving size.
Overall the product doesn’t make great first impressions, and even the packaging is a bit dull. But let’s take a look what goes into each capsules and see if this Leaning Agent will get you Lean.
PES Science Shift Leaning Agent Core Ingredients
PES Science have used a large amount of lesser known fat burning herbs and ingredients inside Shift fat burner.
Whilst some of them may lead to some fat burning results, they don’t really have the proven scientific background we like the contents of our supplements to have.
Shift should be relatively safe, however one ingredient may be a slight cause for concern.
Also known as bitter orange or Citrus Aurantium.
Synephrine is the compound found within the unripe fruit of Citrus Aurantium. It has been shown to have the same effects as ephedra or ephedrine, without being able to be converted to methamphetamines.
It is shown to increase metabolic rate, fat break down, thermogenesis and also shown to decrease a person’s appetite.
Due to the similarities however, it can also cause similar side effects. Especially when combined with other stimulants.
Rhodiola can be found in the Arctic and Alpine areas of Europe, Asia and America. Cultures as far back as Ancient Greece have used it as a tonic.
It is largely used to help the body adapt to stress and fatigue. It is thought to strengthen the nervous system, fight depression, enhance immunity, elevate the capacity for exercise, enhance memory, aid weight reduction, increase sexual function and improve energy levels.
There’s still a bit of studying required for it’s use as a fat burner, but the other health benefits are good.
A member of the mint family that is used largely to treat heart, blood vessel and circulation issues.
Olive Leaf Extract
Olive Leaf Extract is used in fat burners because it’s high in the bioactive compound ‘oleuropein’. This ingredient is widely thought to improve cardiovasular and metabolic health. The one study that has shown it can aid weight loss was actually done on rats, and there isn’t any evidence to show this works otherwise. It’s probably best avoiding and replacing with something like Green Coffee or Green Tea.
PES Science Shift Leaning Agent Dose
You get a decent dose of Citrus Aurantium in PES Science Shift. This is all well and good, but when combined with other stimulants, this ingredient has been known to cause adverse side effects.
2 capsules per serving is also a little low when it comes to burning fat, which is a bit frustrating.
There are a few ingredients at certain doses in here which will probably have a very limited effect on you too.
When it comes to a solid fat burner you are better looking for a product that spreads a dose of around 3-4 capsules through the day and only uses proven and effective ingredients.
PES Science Shift Leaning Agent Side Effects
Side effects from Citrus Aurantium can be headaches, nasuea and sickness. Generally these side effects are more common when the ingredient is mixed with caffeine, however it is still chemically similar to Ephedrine, which is banned.
We’d recommend testing your tolerance to ensure you are ok with supplementing PES Science fat burner.
PES Science Shift Leaning Agent Review Conclusion
Shifts blend is overall quite weak when it comes to fat burning.
You just need to compare it to any of the big hitters like Grenade, MusclePharms shred sport or Instant Knockout by Roar Ambition.
Whilst you may see some minor results from PES Science’ fat burner, these are going to be marginal.
As a fat burner it does look good though! So there’s always that. But we would seriously recommend you check out our top 3 for the best in natural fat burning.
