This time, we look at the Semtex fat burner by JST Jodie, a collaboration between JST and the bodybuilder Jodie Marsh, which is a thermogenic supplement that ‘’helps’’ losing weight by accelerating the metabolism. But this has been optimized for serious gym enthusiast rather than casual dieters.

It contains a few ingredients in our #1 fat burner,  Instant Knockout. But it has a few others not as safe and probably fairly uncommon as far as fat burners go. Brazilian cocoa extract, Bioperine, Guarana, and Niacin would be examples of these.

Ingredients

Brazilian cocoa: It’s comprised of xanthine molecules theobromine and caffeine with bitter chocolate tasting extract. The active chemical compound here is the Theobromine that’s also found in chocolate. Scientists and research studies have shown that it can be used medically as a muscle stimulant, helps to provide cardiovascular and cognitive benefits through blood flow and of course has antioxidant effects. It’s a safe product so don’t be afraid of this, but it’s not fully confirmed wether it will be fully beneficial in this supplement.

Bioperine: It’s obtainable from black pepper extract, which helps to change the metabolism of various other ingredients in JST Jodie. Also, it can slow both gastric emptying and intestinal transit. These facts might sound JST Jodie Ingredients Listoverwhelming, but the bottom line is that it can slow down your digestion and promote the bioavailability of others compounds, a good natural ingredient to have in a fat burner.

Guarana: This ingredient is a seed that contains more caffeine than coffee beans. As caffeine, it promotes the alertness, improves your energy and helps to boost your performance. The problem is not the ingredient by itself, instead, it is the vast amount of caffeine in total in the supplement. Also, bear in mind that Guarana may interact with heart medication known as ‘’Amiodarone’’. Huge amounts of this ingredient for a long time brings side effects like nausea, increased heart rate, and blood pressure.

Niacin (Vitamin B3): It’s an essential B-vitamin found in fish, meat, and eggs, for example, it is important in order to have healthy cells. It has 35mg, it means that probably it is too much for some people, causing side effects like facial redness, flushing, and itchiness. You’d probably want about 5mg for this to be effective.

The rest of the ingredients are safe and effective for losing weight and burn fat. We found ingredients that are present in others fat burners such as, Caffeine, Green tea, Acetyl L-Carnitine and Cayenne. Unlike others, Semtex lacks fundamental ingredients such as zinc, chromium, green coffee extract, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 that are present in better supplements such as Instant Knockout.

How should I take this product?

For non-training days, is recommendable to take two capsules of Semtex daily, 4 or 6 hours before going to bed.

When you are going to train, is recommendable to take two capsules 30-45 minutes prior to exercise.

By its strong effects is recommendable to take a break for 1 or 2 weeks after using it for 8-12 weeks.

Price And Where Can I Buy It?

It is available on Amazon and a bunch of others websites, the price is around £30-£35. Nonetheless, it may seem like a good and cheap product, but there are a few problems with this supplement, mainly that some of the ingredients could potentially cause some harm to you.

Conclusion

It should be a fairly effective supplement but there are some risky ingredients. This risk is so high that we can’t really recommend it to anyone. If you are looking to buy a good fat burner we recommend that you look for fully natural, tested and safe ingredients, that are also carefully measured.
