DNA Lean Thermo XY is a fresh dietary supplement that promises some pretty amazing thermogenic effects. A thermogenic supplement usually classifies a ‘burning’ of the body – in a good way.
A proper one should heat your body up appropriately, allowing an individual that takes it regularly to burn more fat than normal.
This supplement, in particular, DNA Lean Thermo XY, claims that it can accomplish these magical effects with 12 specifically chosen ingredients.
The company that manufactured this is stationed in Britain and promises that it’s claims are backed by science. Whether that’s true is dependent on the ingredients it uses.
DNA Lean Thermo XY Ingredients
As mentioned, there are 12 main ingredients that were used in the making of DNA Lean Thermo XY. These ingredients promise pretty amazing effects, and the manufacturer has claimed that these ingredients are potent enough to be properly effective.
There are 60 capsules per container, and the label recommends at least 2-4 pills per day. The serving size on the label is based on the use of two pills per day.
The general public seems to have this strange perception of Niacin, also called Vitamin B3. There is no evidence to show that niacin can actually increase metabolic rates – nor is it actually effective for fat burning. Supplementing niacin hasn’t proven to do anything, even in higher doses – up to 2000 mg.
There has been a study done involving this subject, and unfortunately, the results are less than positive.
At varying doses of around 2-500 mg (done to decrease the flushing effect) the subjects involved had not experienced any change in weight mass or metabolic rates. Meaning, that the 30 mg involved in the making of DNA Lean Thermo XY cannot prove to be effective.
There have been studies done that have shown that people who have a vitamin D (thiamin) deficiency have a more difficult time losing weight.
That had always been the belief surrounding thiamin. However, new studies have suggested otherwise – especially in the case of taking thiamin supplements on its own.
None of the studies have actually lead to any significant weight loss, although there had been a pretty big study – with a total subject pool of 400.
All of whom were chosen based on their weight and level of vitamin D deficiency, that had experienced significant weight loss.
It is said that vitamin D can enhance the effects of a low-calorie diet for vitamin D deficient individuals, although it has no such effect on persons without vitamin D deficiency.
This should be taken with a pinch of salt, as other studies have not proven this to be 100% effective.
Bitter Orange (Whole Citrus Aurantium)
There is a lot of talk when it comes to the use of Bitter Orange in supplements, but the most notable object of discourse- just so happens to be about the effect of Bitter Orange when taken as a weight loss supplement and it’s effects on an individual’s heart rate.
There has been evidence to suggest that it could lead to “…increased heart rate in healthy adults with otherwise normal blood pressure.”
It’s considered a dangerous substance that requires for one to consult with their doctor before ingesting. There is 300 mg of bitter orange used in the making of the DNA Lean Thermo XY, which should be considered before even thinking about purchasing the supplement.
Caffeine is a popular ingredient that has been proven to work in varying doses of 200-500 mg. DNA Lean Thermo XY has a daily dosage of 200 mg, which should work for beginners.
One thing of note is that there have been studies showing that the use of caffeine and bitter orange as a pair can lead to an increase in heart rate. Which makes me wary of its use here.
As for caffeine on its own, whilst it is known to be effective. This will be based on both your current body fat levels as well as your level of caffeine dependency.
One of the unfortunate things involved in the use of caffeine is that most of its effects have been proven mainly for people who are already lean. It has been known to result in weight loss for obese individuals as well, but not at the same level.
Also, the more of it you take, the more your body will grow used to it’s effects. Making it a supplement that’s more for short-term use, rather than long-term use. Do consult your doctor about the caffeine and bitter orange pairing before even considering to take this supplement.
The theory behind Acetyl L-Carnitine is a good one, and studies have shown its effectiveness as a fat burner. However, most of it has been attributed to its ability to increase energy rather than actually burning fat.
Meaning, that Acetyl L-Carnitine is most effective when paired with a good exercise routine.
There is 100 mg of cayenne in the DNA Lean Thermo XY formula, and this is possibly the ingredient that the supplement refers to when it speak’s about its thermogenic effects.
This is a claim that can actually be followed by research. Not only does consuming cayenne lead to more fat burning, it can also result in a decrease in appetite. Although these effects are strongest for people who don’t eat spicy foods on a regular basis.
Where to buy?
The price for the supplement is around $30 if purchased through here. That’s a fair price, considering there should be enough servings to last a whole month. However, if you would like to go up to 4 pills a day – to increase efficiency, then you’re going to have to purchase at least two containers for you have enough for a whole month.
DNA Lean Thermo XY Review Conclusion
Is this a recommendable supplement? That would highly depend. Although some of the ingredients have actually been proven to work.
The bitter orange paired with the caffeine might prove to be too dangerous for some. If you can confirm with your doctor, then perhaps this supplement that might work for you, however, unless you can get that approval I would suggest you look elsewhere.
There are lots of great supplements out there. I would suggest having a look at our Top 3 Fat Burner reviews. At the top of the list is Instant Knockout, which is a highly acclaimed supplement that uses only ingredients that have been proven to work.
